Mike and I watch Whale Wars and my opinion is that it’s a neat show. I think the Sea Sheppard’s are a little hippyish, but what they are doing…I agree with them one hundred percent.

They are volunteering to do this, no one is making them. My only problem is the crap they do, isn’t severely tough enough. Throwing butyric acid, yeah thats great n stinky and all but I’m thinking more along the lines of fire bombs! I know, I know, -they don’t want to harm anyone but those damn Japanese whalers piss me off to the point where my blood pressure boils!

Japan isn’t starving, they can live without whale meat. What the hell is it, a delicacy over there? WTF? And how much ‘research’ do they need to do on the whales? They’ve been ‘researching’ whales for decades.

Poor Paul Bethune and his Ady Gil. He seems like such an awesome person, how lucky is his family?! The Ady Gil was his baby. One badass boat too. I’m glad they have the Gojira, and Locky as the captain. I hope it doesn’t hit an iceberg!

Anyway, if I had my way, I’d sink that devil ship the Nisshin Maru, the Shonan Marus and the other stupid ships.

Thanks to the Sea Sheppard’s for doing what reality shows SHOULD do, is give you an informative perspective on a life that you wouldn’t otherwise get to see. I never wanted a show I liked to go off the air, but this is one that I believe Animal Planet and the Sea Sheppard’s would like to end…and that would be a good thing!

I’m so worried about clouds and sun lately because it’s been a month since we’ve had a sunny day. It’s been clouds clouds clouds, a tiny burst of sun, then MORE CLOUDS!

We are so sick of clouds. WHERE IS THE SUN??????

At least the sun is out today in full force!

Drank some red wine, ate some big salad and bread sticks.

The past few days (seems like weeks) we have had this stalled front in the western area resulting in non stop thunderstorms. So much rain; the rivers are still on the rise, basements have flooded, the poor ground just can’t hold any more water. It runs into the roads, along with dirt, rocks and sand. Sticks and branches are all over peoples yards and streets from the intense wind. It was so muggy, you could hardly breathe, it felt like your taking a shower when you went outside.

Yesterday a funnel cloud was spotted over East 53rd Street. (that is waaay too close to home)

The weather people said that they would dissipate before arriving, because of high pressure.

It’s 2:33pm and they are knocking our backdoor! They must have stuck together because it is going to rain. The cluster only got larger and held together. So much for weather people right now.

And this is been an amazing few days for other reasons;

One, Friday morning Mike and I went to the store and bought a cartload of groceries. Of course any time we have a bunch of food we are happy fat and full. Then Amanda and I went out shopping, then I took a nap. Then Amanda came back over and we had a party with some beer!!! Yay beer!

Two, I got to sleep in for the first time in years on a Saturday, and NOT feel guilty about it because I’m ‘sick’ from work or something. We went for a morning cruise and got some coffee.

Three, Saturday night my dad and Brenda treated Mike and I to a Circa 21 dinner and play, it was a great dinner- It was a buffet, and after eating for twenty four hours non stop, I didn’t eat for awhile before I went. I was HONGRAY and had salmon, chicken and beef. Only it wasn’t like that….it was chicken cattiatore, maple crusted salmon and salisbury steak…then they had fancy sides like glazed corn, garlic mashed potatoes. YUM

The play was so good, our waitress was a bootlegger, which means they not only are the waiters and waitresses, they also sing and dance in the pre show. And if you have an announcement, as mine was my birthday, they will announce it in front of everyone at the stage. Our bootlegger was Sara, and she was very sweet and a good singer.

Lastly, my Sunday was amazing because I pretty much wake up and head off to the Red Lob for lunch with Erin. Which I am now remembering I left some cheddar biscuits in my car. As much as I love cheddar biscuits, I will probably still eat those.

And at work, I have a new task. I will be calling and scheduling appointments for customers who lease a Honda. I will be making sure they are taken care of while they make the decision- any decision. I was given all the necessary tools needed for making this my little tasky job. Now I just need to figure it all out.

I wish I had more to say, but, it’s been one of those weeks. Days, whatever it even is anymore.

Johnstown, PA

Please excuse my overuse of the word “perfect” in this post….I am in dreamland when I think about my old neighborhood…..

I’m obsessed with Bing.com. It has great maps. I thought Google Maps was great, Street view is great, anyway. Bing has what they call Bird’s Eye View which basically takes you closer and more clear than you’ve ever dreamed of.

I searched for my old house in Johnstown, PA (where I grew up 13 years) and I was amazed at what I saw. It comes in so clear, I can see the house color, the yard, the greenest grass I have ever seen, a truck in the driveway.

Of course in my opinion, they took out all the gorgeousness and replaced it with typical blah blah blah’s. We had a nice tulip garden in the front yard. Gone. We had a 500 sq foot garden in the backyard. Gone. We had a pine tree on the side of the house. Gone. We had a white tanish house. Paint gone. It’s blue now. Backyard huge wooden deck attached to house. Gone. There is a pool now. I’m pretty sure my sandbox Dad and Grandpa built is gone. And my swing set. ????

I say this, I say WTF?? Alright it’s new owners, they can do whatever they want since they bought the house. BUT….when it was yours first, I think it’s only natural to feel the way I feel about my house, my neighborhood. I liked it the way it was.

Across the street, it’s an empty grass lot with a playground, slides and swings. We also have a small little forest with a creek. There was a little bit of a hill that you had to stumble down to get to the forest but we would use that hill for sledding in the winter time. The perfect hill. I had the time of my life in that creek. Denise and I would run barefoot through that creek, finding salamanders and making cabins. We made a cabin that could have dubbed for a cottage. It had a rock sink in it. A big rock with a deep gauge in it so we put water in it. It was a rock sink.

This was a time when parents could let there kids go play outside (before X-box and computers) and not worry about them being abducted by strangers.

My neighborhood in my mind, was filled with perfect little houses, spaced so perfectly apart, so everyone had a chance at a nice sized yard. Everyone had a driveway, no need for ugly cars parked all over the street. Denise and I would ride our bikes to the grocery store, called Riverside at that time. We would also stop at This n That. Candy. Carrying those brown bags full of penny candy, candy cigarettes and bubble gum.

Those were perfect memories I want to keep, so when I was able to ‘fly’ around my neighborhood and see all of my old friends’ houses, I was amazed at one small detail…..
EVERYONE HAS A POOL!

I am serious when I say, about every other house has a pool. Hell, we never had a pool when we lived there, nor did I ever care about having one, but they have one now. I am going to post a picture of my neighborhood when I have the chance too.

I wanted to sneak off and explore the hallways, see my old locker and maybe have a flashback to the nightmare everyone has of getting lost and can’t finding a classroom. But that was impossible because the same security guard was there, at the basketball game, that was there when I went to high school, like eight years ago. And he is a big ol mean lookin’ man.

And this isn’t the first time I volunteered at a high school event. High school kids LOVE their candy. And also, high school kids are, (not all of them, thank goodness) way too sexually charged. Here comes my rant. It’s disgusting. These are children, and thanks to the media whorestorms everywhere, they have literally rapped our kids of living kid lives. Kid lives, you may ask? I mean spending their time with friends, being outdoors, playing in the woods and making forts. Learning about nature, trying to volunteer their time instead of slutting it out in a teeny bopper nightclub or sending sexts and naked pictures of gross baby teen parts that aren’t even legal yet. I’m sorry, but you have your whole life to wear low cut tops. Why not concentrate on what school is all about, education. All these idiots these days are about status, sex and labels. It’s the nasty girls who ruin it for all the good girls.
